Valley Wellness Fitness Center

The Valley Wellness Center is a brand new 54,000 square foot health club facility in Allentown, Pa. The concept, which is the first of its kind in the Lehigh Valley, is a membership based all-inclusive wellness and fitness club with amenities comparable to that of a country club.

The Fitness Center includes an indoor climbing cavern, a yoga balcony, cardio loft, running track, fitness group classrooms, full court basketball gym, an indoor natatorium, and multipurpose classrooms for aerial yoga, heavy bag boxing and Crossfit. The facility also features a salon and spa, a café with full kitchen, daycare services, and locker room facilities complete with steam and sauna rooms. The kitchen and multipurpose spaces also have a direct connection to the outdoor pool area with a covered bar, lounge seating and covered performance stage.

The pool is designed with a giant slide, sun-shelf, children’s water features, lazy river under a steel bridge and lap lanes. The design features a glass rotunda with LED color-changing lighting adjacent to the two-story lobby with glass curtain wall to allow natural light into the building.

One of the design challenges which became a building feature was the request to install a ramp in the fitness area instead of an elevator.
