St. Luke’s University Health Network Monroe Campus Expansion

St. Luke’s University Health Network engaged MKSD to design an addition to its Monroe campus, with a focus on enhancing the patient experience. From the welcoming entrance to the comfortable patient rooms, the design prioritized a warm, inviting atmosphere. MKSD incorporated evidence-based design principles to create safe, effective environments throughout the addition.

One of the challenges for this project was seamlessly connecting the addition to the existing building, both in terms of code compliance and functionality. To address this, MKSD phased the project to allow for the construction of a new two-hour-rated exit from the original structure. Additionally, we angled the new addition to reduce the perceived length of the building, creating a more visually balanced design.
