Martin Guitar Custom Shop

MKSD was commissioned by CF Martin Guitar to renovate a 1,500-square-foot office space, transforming it into a multi-purpose experience center for special customers and vendors. The project involved converting a video conference room into a dynamic space where guests could engage with the Martin brand, along with upgrades to the marketing department, executive offices, and employee kitchen.

The design highlighted Martin’s rich heritage, featuring their specialty woods and soft, flexible seating to create a warm, lounge-like atmosphere. A custom-built sound booth allowed visitors to test guitars without disturbing nearby workspaces.

Unique, guitar-inspired details were incorporated, including ceiling baffles mimicking the wooden bracing inside a Martin acoustic guitar and acoustic panels inspired by guitar frets. Temperature- and humidity-controlled rooms were calibrated for storing Martin guitars and parts.

By using cost-effective materials and reducing the size of the space, MKSD saved the client about 50% of the original budget while still creating a premium experience center to impress customers and boost sales.
