Keystone Harley Davidson

Keystone Harley-Davidson, the Lehigh Valley’s premier Harley-Davidson dealer, approached MSKD to design a new dealership building in Whitehall, PA. In addition to serving the thriving local market, the dealership needed to serve as a destination for road trippers traveling across the country.

The new facility provides space for over 50 showcased motorcycles and three-wheeled autocycles, retail apparel and parts, meeting space for the Lehigh Valley H.O.G. Chapter, service bays for 12 motorcycle lifts, long-term warehouse storage, and administrative offices. This location also required considerations for future growth given the high demand for Harley-Davidson’s services in the area.

MSKD designed the exterior of the building as an homage to Harley-Davidson’s historic corporate headquarters in Milwaukee, WI. Exterior materials include brick and CMU veneer, storefront glazing, and insulated metal panels.

The interior flow of the dealership was of critical importance to maximize customer satisfaction. In designing the new dealership, MKSD planned for key programmatic spaces to overlap allowing the customer to have an authentic shopping experience.

The main design challenge was ensuring the interior environment was compatible with Harley-Davidson’s brand recognition. Interior finishes, signage, lighting, and furniture were critical design aspects that MKSD coordinated with the client. During design, MKSD utilized virtual reality and 3D renderings to assist the client with visualizing design intents.
