Foley Inc. CAT Branch

In a design-build collaboration between MKSD Architects, Wohlsen Construction and Barry Isett & Associates, the MKSD team worked closely with the client, Foley, Inc., to open their new CAT branch in Breinigsville, Pennsylvania. MKSD maintained continuous communication with the owner, contractor, and design team to address any issues that arose and collaboratively determine the best course of action. Through teamwork, expertise, and careful planning, MKSD successfully overcame challenges, including an existing uncontrolled fill area on the site and the coordination of owner-provided equipment.

The main facility of this impressive project spans 50,465 square feet, integrating sales, rental, service, and office spaces. It boasts a striking two-story lobby and sales area with offices on the second floor, as well as a 35-foot-tall service area featuring 12 bays, eight overhead cranes, four scissor lifts, and an advanced automatic inventory control system. Additionally, a 7,680-square-foot support building houses a wash bay, hydraulic shop, and weld shop.

The Sales & Service building features a 4-foot CMU perimeter wall with insulated metal panels on a steel frame. The Wash & Maintenance building is constructed with full-height insulated metal panels supported by a steel frame and backed by CMU.

The project involved significant site work, including the installation of three underground stormwater basins, one above-ground basin, an underground fire suppression system, as well as on-site septic and well systems.

MKSD collaborated closely with the entire team to deliver the project on time and within the allocated construction budget, all while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
