Read More >Silvia, Ali and Declan recently participated in the Parkland School District Student Leadership Council event. The event was held at the new Barry Isett Associates office headquarters building in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Parkland School District’s Student Leadership Council had the opportunity to visit and tour the brand-new building designed by MKSD. Barry Isett Associates and MKSD architects were able to speak about their companies.
The event was a visit/tour with Parkland School District Superintendent Dr. Mark Madson and his Student Leadership Council of twenty 8-12th grade students from the three secondary schools. This year’s theme is “Building Culture”, and the students work on teams to develop projects that help improve the school environment and make a difference in their school’s culture. The Middle School group revamped the new student orientation in August and wants to have a multi-cultural fair to celebrate diversity around the arts festival in May.
MKSD’s presentation focused on our company culture. They shared a brief company overview, MKSD’s core values, some aspects of the company culture and a few featured projects including the Parkland School District Operations Center. Declan also shared his perspective on working in our office as a recent graduate. He discussed his job shadow experience at MKSD while in high school, his path to pursing an architecture degree at Thomas Jefferson University, his internship, and his current full-time experience at MKSD.
The event was a success and MKSD was thrilled to participate. We look forward to more opportunities to share our company with the community.
