Saucon Valley High School Classroom Renovations

Saucon Valley School District will receive sealed bids for the renovation of a classroom within the existing high school, located at 2097 Polk Valley Rd., Hellertown, PA 18055. Bids for all contracts shall be delivered to David Bonenberger, Director of Fiscal and Operations Management, no later than 2:00 PM prevailing time on Monday, February 17, 2025, in the Business Office at Saucon Valley School District located at 2097 Polk Valley Rd., Hellertown, PA 18055, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read. Bids received after the above-referenced date and time shall be returned to the bidder unopened. Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes bearing the name of the bidder and shall be clearly marked “Athletic Training Room Renovation.” This is a multi-prime project, and separate contracts will be awarded for general, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work.

On January 17, 2025, bidders may obtain one set of bidding documents from the architect, MKSD, LLC by visiting the architect’s website www.mksdarchitects.com. Bid documents for this project (including any specifications and drawings) must be downloaded from the architect’s website at www.mksdarchitects.com and may not be secured through any other means. Bids submitted by firms who procure these documents from any source other than MKSD, LLC will be considered non-responsive and will be rejected. All questions regarding this project shall be directed to Ali Higgs at MKSD, LLC, at ams@mksdarchitects.com before February 7, 2025 at 2pm.
Saucon Valley High School Classroom Renovations:
Work will include demolition of interior finishes, casework, plumbing fixtures, and exhaust hoods. The new work will include new casework, new finishes, new general electric, new plumbing fixtures and an increased sanitary line.
The following information shall be furnished by bidders when requesting bidding documents:
- Contract to be bid.
- Bidder’s mailing address.
- Name of Bidder’s representative.
- Bidder’s telephone number.
- Bidder’s facsimile number.
- Bidder’s email address
Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security in an amount equal to 10% of the base bid amount in the form of a bid bond as described in the supplementary instruction to bidders.
A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the forms provided in the Project Manual, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the contract, and each with satisfactory corporate surety, shall be required to be furnished by the successful Bidders prior to execution of the contracts. IMPORTANT: Surety companies executing BONDS must appear on the Treasury Department’s most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and must be authorized to transact business in the state where the PROJECT is located.
Bids may not be modified, withdrawn or concealed by the Bidder for sixty calendar (60) days following the actual date of opening thereof, except as provided in Act No.4 (1974). However, if award of contract is delayed by the required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds or the award of grants or grant, the Bids may not be withdrawn by the Bidder for a period not to exceed 120 days from the date of bid opening in accordance with Pennsylvania law.
The Owner reserves the right in its discretion to reject any or all bids or parts thereof and to waive any irregularities, informalities, defects, errors or omissions in any bid.
There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting for all bidders held at 2:30 PM prevailing time on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at the high school, Attendance of all Bidders is mandatory.
This project is subject to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry’s Prevailing Wage Determination or the Davis-Bacon Act as amended (40 USC276a to 276a-7).
